THE CRUCIBLE - Cumberland County College Arts & Humanities Division and Department of Theatre is proud to present one of America’s greatest plays – a powerful example of how the theatre reflects and reacts to the society around it. Winner of the 1953 Tony Award for Best Play, The Crucible opens in the Luciano Theatre on Friday, November 21 and continues Saturday, November 22 @ 8 and Sunday, November 23 @ 3pm. Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winner Arthur Miller creates a powerful and timeless depiction of how intolerance and mass hysteria can intersect and tear a community apart. Set in the world of the Salem witch trials, the themes of religious persecution and the need for personal strength resonate to the present. Please join us in celebrating this creative work of conscience by one of the most honored and produced playwrights of the twentieth century.
See what critics across the country have said about Arthur Miller’s play The Crucible“The Great American Masterpiece.”- San Francisco Chronicle" Arthur Miller has created a timeless classic that still stands as one of the most relevant pieces in American Theatre." - Boston Globe"One of Miller’s finest works." - New York Times  Auditions early September.
