Cumberland County Events

Cumberland County hosts a variety of events throughout the county. Listed below are a few events to visit.

Tour The Alfred I. duPont Mansion - May 3 - Soroptimist International of Cumberland County is sponsoring a trip on Sunday, May 3, to tour "The Alfred I. duPont Nemours Mansion and Gardens." A stop at the "Hagley Museum" is included, along with lunch at the duPont Country Club. Motor coach leaves from the P. Austin State Farm Insurance parking lot on Burlington Road at 10 a.m. and will return at 8 p.m.

Cost is $75/person and includes transportation, driver gratuity, lunch and all admissions. For more information or reservations, call Donna Melvin at (856) 453-8694.

Spring Senior Craft Fair - May 9 - The Cumberland County Office on Aging and Disabled will hold its annual Spring Senior Craft Fair and Informational Expo from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, May 9, at the Cumberland Mall. The event will feature crafts, flower arrangements, jewelry, and more, handmade by area senior citizens. The event will be an opportunity for exhibitors to display and sell their handiwork.

There will also be an Information Expo, which will offer resource materials and information provided by various agencies serving senior and disabled county residents.

Crafters age 55 and older or disabled may register for a craft table by calling Melissa Clifton at the Office on Aging at (856) 453-2220. There is no cost for table space. Early registration is recommended in order to reserve a table.

'A Celebration of Rock 'n' Roll Show' starring Jamie Aaron Kelley and His Rockin' Stage Band will be 'live in concert' one night only at the Cumberland County College Fine & Performing Arts Center, Vineland, May 16, 2009 at 8 p.m. This is a high energy show in which Mr. Kelley performs rock 'n' roll, country, blues, gospel, classic Elvis songs and songs by artists such as Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash and Ray Charles. Tickets are now on sale at the ticket box office by calling (856) 692-8499 or by stopping by the theater. All tickets are $40. Tickets can also be obtained through the Jamie Aaron Kelley Fan Club, P.O. Box 1578, Millville, NJ, 08332.
